Senior Fund Accounting Manager (JP)

Job Responsibilities and Functions

Client & Service Delivery

  • Lead and develop a high-performing fund accounting team while overseeing fund accounting operations for venture capital and private equity funds, ensuring accurate transaction processing, calculations, investor reporting, and exceptional client service.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and key contact for clients and investors, providing timely support and solutions.

Fund Accounting & Oversight

  • Review and validate NAV, management fees, capital calls, distributions, carried interest calculations, and waterfall allocations in accordance with fund governing documents.
  • Review financial statements and fund reporting packages.
  • Oversee SPV accounting and related reporting requirements.

Compliance and Collaboration

  • Support clients with regulatory and compliance reporting requirements including
  • CRS, FATCA, VAT and other applicable obligations.
  • Participate in client onboarding projects, fund launches, and complex fund transitions.
  • Drive strategic initiatives focused on operational scalability, service excellence, process improvement, and automation to enhance efficiency and deliver greater value to clients.

  • Private Equity and Venture Capital Industry solution experience (e.g., eFront, Investran and SMP) is highly regarded

 

Qualifications and Work Experience

  • 6–10+ years of relevant experience in fund accounting, private equity, venture capital, fund administration, or alternative investments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related discipline.
  • Experience in fund accounting, fund administration, private equity, venture capital, or alternative investment operations.
  • Experience with JPGAAP and/or Japanese auditing standards (JICPA) is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English.
