Linnovate Partners Hosted Fund Regulatory Compliance Talk in Hong Kong

Linnovate Partners hosted a successful fund regulatory compliance seminar last July 6, 2023 at the Hong Kong Bankers Club. The event brought together a diverse group of professionals, including experts from Citic Capital, KPMG, Walkers Global, Hang Seng Bank, and Linnovate Partners’ own team to share their experiences and insights on how to stay informed about regulatory changes, implement effective compliance programs, and mitigate risks.

One of the main topics discussed was the tax implications for foreign investors investing in HKLPF, VCC, and Cayman funds. The speakers shared best practices for addressing these concerns and highlighted the importance of understanding the tax implications of investing in different jurisdictions. The event also addressed the unique challenges associated with conducting business across borders and ensuring compliance with multiple regulatory regimes.

Another topic of discussion was the regulatory changes in Hong Kong, Singapore, Cayman Islands, and other financial centers and their impact on the investment landscape. The speakers discussed the implications for investors and investment managers and shared their perspectives on how to stay informed about regulatory changes and implement effective compliance programs. Finally, the event addressed the growing importance of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors in the investment industry. The speakers discussed how ESG factors are being incorporated into regulatory frameworks and the implications for investment managers and investors.

The event was attended by more than 60 professionals in the private equity and venture capital industry. Linnovate Partners hosted a networking cocktail after the seminar to cap off the event.
