Linnovate, together with HKVCA, hosted a luncheon at The China Club in Hong Kong on “Mind the Gap: Navigating the New US-China Investment Landscape.”

On September 22, 2026, Linnovate, together with Hong Kong Venture Capital Association (HKVCA), brought together investors and industry leaders for a luncheon at The China Club in Hong Kong to discuss one of the most complex questions facing global investors today, how should capital navigate the changing relationship between the US and China?

Moderated by Henry Lin, Founder & CEO of Linnovate, the conversation with Michael Tung, Founder & General Partner of Ark Ascendant Capital, and Gordon Yen, Founding Managing Partner of Radiant Tech Ventures, moved beyond the usual “US versus China” narrative.

The discussion looked at shifting capital flows, regulatory developments, technology restrictions, changing exit considerations and the growing importance of alternative structures for cross-border investment.

Hong Kong was also a key part of the conversation, with the speakers exploring how its role in connecting Asian capital with global opportunities is evolving as investment flows become increasingly directional.

The discussion highlighted a more nuanced reality, investors are rethinking how the US and China fit into their strategies, where the risks and opportunities lie, and how they can continue to access both markets in an increasingly fragmented investment environment.

Thank you to HKVCA, our speakers and everyone who joined us for an insightful discussion.
