Linnovate was pleased to co-host US Venture Capital in 2026: Japan–US Allocation, AI Access & Co-Investment Liquidity alongside Sunrise Club at the Japan Innovation Campus (JIC) in Palo Alto. The event brought together investors, fund managers, founders, and ecosystem leaders to exchange perspectives on the future of Japan–US venture capital.
As cross-border investing continues to evolve, discussions are increasingly extending beyond capital allocation to focus on AI, liquidity, and the operational infrastructure that enables global investment. The panel explored how Japanese LPs and fund of funds are navigating access to the most compelling AI investment opportunities in the US venture market, as well as how US venture capital firms and Japanese institutional investors are deepening collaboration through co-investment and evolving partnership models.
The discussion featured Zak Murase, who shared his experience deploying Japanese corporate venture capital into US startups and advising Japanese corporates on Silicon Valley investments; Jay Onda, who drew on his leadership experience across Marubeni Ventures, NTT DOCOMO, and Yamaha Motor Ventures; and Henry Lin, Founder & CEO of Linnovate, who provided insights into how technology and operational excellence are transforming private markets. The session was moderated by Chloe Takahashi, Founder of Sunrise Club, a California-based nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering collaboration between the US and Japan innovation ecosystems.
The evening concluded with a networking reception, offering attendees the opportunity to continue conversations, exchange ideas, and strengthen connections across the venture capital community.
Linnovate is proud to support initiatives that promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation across the global private capital ecosystem. We thank Sunrise Club, our speakers, partners, and all attendees for contributing to a successful and insightful event.
